ANALYSIS OF FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT IN LONG AN PROVINCE IN THE PERIOD 2010 - 2021

Abstract

Foreign direct investment plays an important role in promoting growth and economic restructuring. In the period 2010 - 2021, Long An province recorded an increase in the scale and number of projects with foreign direct investment, making a positive contribution to socio-economic development. The article applies historical and logical methods, collecting, analyzing and processing secondary data to clarify the process of attracting foreign direct investment into the locality in the above period. The research results show that, thanks to the synchronous implementation of appropriate policies and making good use of the advantages of the gateway position of the Mekong Delta, Long An province has created a favorable investment environment, attracting many strategic partners and resources from outside. These capital flows contribute to increasing the growth rate, promoting economic restructuring towards industrialization and modernization. On that basis, the study analyzes the positive aspects, identifies the existing problems and limitations and proposes solutions such as completing the regional transport infrastructure system; building synchronous industrial, urban and service clusters, etc. to attract more and more foreign direct investment capital and serve the economic development orientation of the province in the next period.
