CURRENT SITUATION OF PREPARATION AND HANDOVER OF PATIENTS BEFORE SURGICAL PREPARED IN THE SURGERY DEPARTMENT – ANESTHESIOLOGY AND RESUSCITATION THAI NGUYEN UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND PHARMACY HOSPITAL

Abstract

The study was conducted with the aim to evaluate the status of preparation and handover of preoperative patients at the Department of Surgery, Anesthesia and Resuscitation, Thai Nguyen University of Medicine and Pharmacy hospital. Prospective research method on 174 patients undergoing surgery according to plan, directly observing the handover process, interviewing the patient to compare the pre-operative preparations on the patient handover sheet according to the available form. Preoperative preparation is not really adequate: 1.1% of patient records lack tests, 2.9% lack signatures of treating doctors and 24.1% do not prepare patient identification cards before surgery, 100% of patients have not been identified. location and cleaning of the surgical site before surgery, 86.2% of patients did not have an enema. Although there are specific regulations for the preparation and handover of patients before surgery, errors still occur, so nurses need to fully comply with the process, strengthen the inspection and remind the standardization.
