THE SITUATION OF TRAINING TEACHERS IN TEACHING PHYSICAL TOPICS BY GENERAL EDUCATION PROGRAM IN 2018

Abstract

The 2018 General Education Program has been implemented with the exception of the school year 2021-2022. However, there are some contents of the program that teachers are still not confident and ready to teach in class, including different learning topics. Therefore, the question has arisen regarding the level of readiness of teachers in teaching each topic. Expert research is used as the main method in this study to assess the readiness of teachers when teaching physics learning topics. A questionnaire designed on a 5-point Likert scale was sent to the experts. The obtained results were processed by mathematical statistical methods. Research shows that there are 13 out of 29 topics that teachers are not ready to teach. These topics are usually newly introduced into the program such as: "Introduction to electronics", "radio communication" and "Earth and Sky", etc. Research results can be an orientation for teachers and managers in the process of periodical training in order to successfully implement the 2018 General Education Program.
