KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDE AND DEMAND OF REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH EDUCATION OF STUDENTS AT TAM THANH AND GOI TOWN SECONDARY SCHOOL, VU BAN DISTRICT, NAM DINH PROVINCE
Abstract
This study aims to find out the knowledge, attitudes and demand of reproductive health education of students at Tam Thanh and Goi Town secondary school, Vu Ban district, Nam Dinh province. The research method used is a cross-sectional description for 309 students, including 131 female and 178 male students. The results showed that the subjects' correct knowledge about the milestones of puberty achieved high results (>80%); 44.7% of the participants knew the time which easiest to become pregnant; 48.9% of whom knew the signs of a pregnant woman. Percentage of study subjects who know the consequences of teenage pregnancy and childbirth; The consequences of abortion; symptoms and harms of sexually transmitted diseases achieved low results (37,9%; 21,4%; 20%; 19,8%, respectively). Most of the study subjects had a need to learn more about the psychophysiology of puberty, sexual diseases, ways to prevent sexually transmitted diseases and safe contraceptive methods. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen reproductive health education for students through channels such as families, schools, and public communication.
