EVALUATING SOME STRETAGIES FOR IMPROVING SYSTEM INDEXES IN WWTP BSM1
Abstract
This study focuses on assessing strategies to optimize system indicators in a wastewater treatment plant utilizing the activated sludge method BSM1. Initially, the article introduces the BSM1 model and the criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of related control methods. The emphasis is then placed on presenting and analyzing control approaches for dissolved oxygen (DO) concentration in tank number 5, notably the implementation of the PI controller, fuzzy controller, predictive control, and their combinations. Leveraging the harmonic mean algorithm, the research findings pinpointed the harmonic mean strategy to enhance system indicators in the BSM1 wastewater treatment plant. This research serves as a valuable reference for future studies aiming to find and apply for advanced control techniques to meet quality standards and cost optimization in the wastewater treatment domain.
