EFFECTIVENESS OF DIVISION OPERATIONS AFTER RESTRUCTURING AT THAI NGUYEN UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE AND FORESTRY
Abstract
The article aimed to evaluate the performance of the departments of the specialized faculties under University of Agriculture and Forestry, Thai Nguyen University after 3 years of restructuring. Before April 2019, there were a total of 38 divisions in 8 faculties; after restructuring, there were only 20 divisions (a reduction of 18 divisions). A survey program to collect opinions on the effectiveness of division operations after restructuring was conducted through a questionnaire with 44 questions in an online format. After implementation, 177 responses were received from lecturers within the university. The results showed that 92,7% of the opinions evaluated the restructuring as highly appropriate; divisions are proactive in all activities related to the majors they manage; divisions perform their roles and responsibilities better; linking the responsibility of department heads with the quality, reputation, and brand of the training program; the implementation of scientific research and other division tasks has become significantly more effective. The restructuring of divisions has helped streamline the apparatus, improved the quality of training and scientific research activities of the units in particular and the university in general.
