Diversity of species composition and use value of Tracheophyta in Rao Vinh - Ba Long area, Dakrong Nature Reserve, Quang Tri Province
Abstract
To contribute to further research on the biodiversity value of Rao Vinh - Ba Long, aiming at the goal of conserving the lowland forest area of Quang Tri province, the research team conducted a survey of the diversity of Tracheophyta in this area from January to May 2025. The methods used in the research include: Field sampling; sample analysis, taking photos of parts of each species such as leaves, flowers, fruits... in the laboratory with an Olympus tough TG6 camera; looking up and learning about the usage value of plant species through professional documents, combining field surveys from the locality, and counting the total number of uses according to groups of uses. Research results have recorded in the Rao Vinh - Ba Long area, there are 251 species, 219 genera, 103 families belonging to 5 phyla of Tracheophyta. The dicotyledonous has 203 species, accounting for 80.88% and the monocotyledonous has 39 species, accounting for 15.53%. Useful plant resources are comprised of 6 categories: medicinal plants, food, shade landscape plants, plants for extract products, plants for fiber. There are 10 plant species that need protection according to the Vietnam Red Book (2024) and Decree No. 84/2021/ND-CP dated 22 September, 2021 of the Government amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 06/2019/ND-CP dated 22 January, 2019 on the management of endangered, precious and rare forest plants and animals and the implementation of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.
