Abstract

Renewable energy has become an inevitable development pathway for the global energy industry, particularly in the context of climate change mitigation and sustainable economic growth. Offshore wind power is widely recognized as a promising solution due to its high and stable energy potential. This study presents survey data and ecological impact assessments of the aquatic ecosystem around Co To Island, providing a scientific basis for the design and construction of an offshore wind farm in the coastal waters of Quang Ninh Province. Field sampling was conducted for three major groups of organisms: zooplankton (50 samples), phytoplankton (100 samples), and benthic organisms (100 samples). The results provide insights into species composition, spatial distribution, and potential ecological interactions with offshore wind power infrastructure. These findings contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of the role of ecological factors in site selection, engineering design, and the sustainable planning and operation of offshore wind power projects in Quang Ninh Province.
