Recovering ammonia, phosphat from latex rubber processing wastewater by struvite precipitation method
Abstract
On the basis of research on factors affecting ammonium and phosphat recovery process from latex processing wastewater such as pH, ratio Mg2+:NH4+:PO43-, reaction time, stirring speed, to provide an efficient struvite precipitation process. The results showed that the yield of ammonium was 68.2% and phosphat was 76.9% at pH 9.1, the ratio of Mg2+:NH4+:PO43- was 1.4:1:1, reaction time was 100 min at a stirring speed of 50 rpm. The struvite structure formed was confirmed by XRD spectroscopy. Thereby, the topic has proposed a circular economy model for the wastewater treatment system of latex rubber, with struvite products used as a slow-dissolving fertilizer for many crops in agriculture; recover biogas, sludge... for production, reduce Nitrogen treatment stages, leading to saving in operating costs.
