Application of Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) for establishing criteria and evaluation process to rank environmentally friendly businesses in Vietnam

Abstract

This study proposes a set of criteria and an evaluation process for ranking environmentally-friendly businesses in Vietnam, in compliance with the 2020 Environmental Protection Law. The proposed criteria consist of two groups: exclusion criteria and scoring criteria, which help to assess and rank businesses according to their environmental friendliness level. The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method is used to determine the weight and score of each scoring criterion. The evaluation and ranking process includes four main steps and is expected to provide a more scientific, comprehensive, and accurate assessment of environmentally-friendly businesses in Vietnam.
