Abstract
Abstract: The paper presents Vietnam’s experience in developing and applying socio-economic indicator sets to support monitoring, management, planning, and supervision of various aspects of the development process. Six indicator sets are selected for analysis, including: the Labor Market Development Index, the Satisfaction Index of Public Administrative Services (SIPAS), the Public Administration Reform Index (PAR INDEX), the Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI), the Provincial Sustainable Development Index (PSDI), the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI), and the Department and District Competitiveness Index (DDCI). The paper clarifies the objectives, methodologies, effectiveness, advantages, and limitations of each index, while also drawing lessons for the domestic implementation of such indicators.
