Abstract

Gender equality in economy, labor, and employment is one of the key goals that every country in the world must achieve in the course of its development. Equality between men and women in accessing, participating in, and benefiting from the labor market not only provides women with opportunities for comprehensive development, unleashing their potential, affirming themselves, and contributing positively to families and society, but it is also a prerequisite for each economy to fully exploit the potential of its entire labor force, thereby promoting economic growth and efficiency. The paper uses data from the national survey on gender equality to analyze the gender gap in the fields of economy, labor, and employment in Vietnam today. The results show that men are ahead of women in many aspects such as education level, holding leadership positions, working longer hours, and earning higher incomes. Although women now have better educational attainment and participate more in various sectors, industries, and economic areas, certain gender stereotypes still persist and need to be addressed in the near future.
