THE ROLE OF ENTERPRISES IN DEVELOPING GREEN INDUSTRIALIZATION - MODERNIZATION MODEL IN THE NORTHERN MIDLANDS AND MOUNTAINOUS REGION OF VIETNAM

Abstract

Abstract: In the oriented - socialist market economy, Vietnam Communist Party and State considers enterprises to be the backbone of the country's economy. Enterprises play an important role in economic development, solving social problems, and protecting the environment. The project "Strategy, policy for national industrialization and modernization (I&M) until 2030, vision to 2045" developed by the Central Economic Committee has determined the orientation of I&M development for the Northern Midlands and Mountainous region of Vietnam as green I&M. In this regard, enterprises play a decisive role in development as they are the pioneers in the transformation of modern technology, techniques and methods to improve labor productivity and develop towards environmentally-friendly practices, which are the prerequisites for sustainable I&M development of the country.
