Abstract

Abstract: The Intergenerational self-help club (IGSHC) model, a community-based initiative, has been highly praised by international and domestic organizations. This article evaluates the significant impact of the IGSHC model on attracting the elderly population. Through a review and analysis of secondary sources, the paper assesses the role of IGSHC in encouraging elderly participation in society, demonstrated through activities promoting physical and mental well-being and community support initiated by the club. Data analysis results indicate that the model actively encourages elderly participation in community activities, transforming the club into a beneficial platform for its senior members. Through club activities, especially those facing difficulties (physical, mental, or psychological), elderly individuals have the opportunity to confidently and equally access and engage in social life. This, in turn, helps them discover their self-worth and find meaning in life.
