Analyzing the current situation of sustainable development of business households in the Southern Key Economic Region (VKTTDPN) and business households in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) shows that business households in VKTTDPN still have some limitations, reflected in small scale, small resources, weak formality and professionalism in operations, compliance with management regulations on business registration, taxes, and low business responsibility, has revealed the vulnerability and unsustainability through the Covid-19 pandemic. The cause of this limitation comes from both the policy aspect and from the internal problems of business households. Based on identifying the causes of limitations, the study offers several policy recommendations and solutions to promote business households in general and VKTTDPN business households, in particular, to develop in a more sustainable direction in the coming time.
