EFFECT OF MARINE DIESEL ENGINE TECHNICAL CONDITIONS ON ITS FUEL CONSUMPTION

Abstract

The determination of the fuel consumption for marine diesel engines plays an important role in the effective management and exploitation of the ship. The engine condition of engines has a direct effect on engine’s fuel consumption. However, the appropriate determination of engine condition is very difficult. The paper analyzes the several engine condition criteria influecing on the performance of marine engine, thereby proposing the appropriate correction factors.
