Abstract

Psychological trauma is quite common in different social groups, and the number of individuals and groups experiencing trauma is currently on the rise.The psychological trauma of “companions” of domestic violence victims is being increasingly recognized, especially in the context of the growing severity of domestic violence. This recognition is vital for the sustainable development of health within the Vietnamese community. This article uses document research and in-depth interviews to provide an overview of the psychological trauma experienced by the “companions” of domestic violence victims. The ideas presented in this article are significant for several related studies, provide guidance for practical applications, and establish the psychological trauma of these “companions” as a “new frontier” in research. Although many studies have thoroughly addressed psychological trauma from a psychological perspective, research on psychological trauma of “companions” of domestic violence victims remains limited, both in Vietnam and globally. Therefore, to supplement information and knowledge about this content, the author wrote the article from a psychological perspective. That approach allows the article to focus on (1) manifestations of psychological trauma, (2) levels of psychological trauma, (3) causes of trauma. psychology, (4) consequences of psychological trauma, (5) solution to escape psychological trauma of “companions” of domestic violence victims
