Abstract

Democratic centralism is a fundamental principle in the organization and operation of the Communist Party of Vietnam. It is a defining characteristic and essence of the ruling Communist Parties in socialist countries and serves a basic distinguishing feature of Marxist-Leninist political parties compared to other political parties worldwide. Since the establishment of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the principle of democratic centralism has been continuously supplemented and developed to adapt to each revolutionary period. The existence and success of the Communist Party of Vietnam in power largely depend on our ability to uphold and implement this principle effectively. Fully aware of its significance to the prosperity and decline of the ruling Communist Party of Vietnam, hostile forces are frantically distorting and denying this principle. Therefore, it is crucial to recognize and address these conspiracies and distortions, and to resolutely refute them in order to consolidate and defend the Party as the vanguard organization of the working class, the working people, and the Vietnamese nation
