THE NEED FOR SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGY CONSULTATION OF STUDENTS AT SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN BAC NINH PROVINCE
Abstract
Society is increasingly developing, leading to various factors that affect the spiritual and material lives of adolescents, causing them to face psychological difficulties. Therefore, they are in urgent need of psychological counseling and support. The study aims to measure the psychological counseling needs of middle school students in Bac Ninh province. The authors employed survey questionnaires, in-depth interviews, and data processing to study 1,250 students from middle schools across the province. The study found that middle school students require counseling when encountering psychological difficulties. They express a desire for their schools to have psychological counseling rooms and to collaborate with psychologists to assist them when needed. The issues students most want counseling on include academic performance, value orientation, career choices. Additionally, the study also identifies students’ preferences regarding the form of counseling, the counselors, counseling time, and locations. The research results will help researchers propose suitable solutions to improve the quality of school psychological counseling
