INNOVATION ACTIVITIES IN UNIVERSITIES AND WOMEN’S PARTICIPATION
Abstract
mproving the quality of higher education and promoting innovation are key factors determining the competitiveness of universities in the context of digital transformation, contributing to the competitiveness, training efficiency and development of higher education institutions. Women, with a large proportion in the team of lecturers, researchers, and universoty managers and leaders, play an important role in this process. However, their level of participation in innovation activities is still not commensurate with their potential, due to the impact of many structural, socio-cultural, and individual barriers. This paper focuses on analyzing women's participation in innovation activities at universities, based on the theoretical basis of innovation and related legal regulations, and exploiting research data of the scientific project "Women's participation in innovation activities at Vietnam Women's Academy and Hanoi University of Architecture" conducted by Gender and Development Faculty, Vietnam Women's Academy in 2025. The paper analyzes the factors affecting women's participation in innovation activities at universities, including personal factors, organizational factors, cultural - social factors, and policy factors.
