This article highlights the importance of applying Realistic MathematicsEducation (RME) in teaching mathematics at primary schools. It serves as a tool to cultivatea deeper, more intuitive understanding of mathematics among primary students, aligning witheducational trends and specific educational objectives delineated in the 2018 Mathematicscurriculum in Vietnam. The teaching of mathematics at the elementary level in Vietnam isundergoing significant changes with the application of RME theory. The aim is to makemathematics more meaningful and engaging for students by incorporating RME principlesinto the design of problems that are connected to everyday experiences.
