THE IMPACT OF APPLYING POSITIVE DISCIPLINE METHODS TO STUDENTS IN SCHOOLS ON THE SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL COMPETENCE OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Abstract
The article evaluates the current impactof applying positive discipline methods to studentsin school on the social-emotional competence ofhigh school students. A survey of 563 students ingrades 10, 11, and 12 at North Thang Long HighSchool (Hanoi), Soc Son High School (Hanoi), andTam Duong High School (Vinh Phuc) shows thatpositive discipline methods have a moderateimpact on students' social-emotional competencewith a positive pattern, in which self-awareness hasthe strongest influence. However, regressionanalysis indicates that this method does not affectall five components of social-emotionalcompetence, but only the regression model issuitable for self-awareness, relationshipmanagement, and responsible decision-makingcompetence.
