Abstract

Micro-teaching is one of the active teaching methods, putting learners at the center of the teaching and learning process. Micro-teaching allows students to practice each individual skill in a short lesson, in a mini-class, with observation, notes, and comments from other students in the group and the lecturer. In teaching informatics, STEM teaching competency is one of the new competencies that need to be developed for students majoring in Informatics Education. This study highlights the component competencies and specific manifestations of STEM teaching competency of students majoring in Informatics Education. Applying the micro-teaching method, lecturers organize learning activities for students, thereby contributing to the development of STEM teaching competency for students majoring in Informatics Education. The research results can be applied to the practice of training general teachers and educational students nationwide, contributing to the development of STEM teaching competency of students majoring in Informatics Education.
