Pedagogical students’ independent learning competency and factors influencing its development

Abstract
Independent learning competency and factors influencing its development ars set in the context of the rapid development of information technology and the internet spreading into all fields in education. The content based on research on the structure of independent learning competency, namely cognitive capacity, metacognitive capacity, emotional capacity, and external factors affecting independent learning competency, such as physical environment and supporting factors. This paper used questionnaires and observations of the process of developing students' independent learning competency. The findings are the data on the reality of pedagogical students' independent learning competency and its influencing factors. It assists lecturers to apply effective teaching methods and promote cognition and self-assessment to help students become more independent in applying theory to practice, more independent in cognition, and more coherent in analysing different learning situations.
