The situation of vocational counseling for the current secondary school senior students

Abstract

The article analyzes the status of vocational counseling for the secondary school senior students today. The authors held surveys. Thus, the research’s results show that vocational counseling activities have not been carried out effectively. Many students have not been consulted for vocational orientation or lacked of information on issues of carrier couseling. A number of teachers, who work towards vocational counseling, are not properly aware of this duty for students. The reason is those teachers have not been trained or fostered fully and seriously about vocational counseling activities for students. In particular, the way career counseling tools are applied is poor even though those tools are easy to find. They are popular and traditional. The effectiveness of using career counseling tools is not high. One of the biggest difficulties in vocational counseling for secondary school senior students is the lack of career counseling tools and guidance for using such tools.
