Solutions to improve the professional competence of social work lecturers in Vietnam

Abstract

The professional competence of lecturers is one of the factors determining the quality of human resource training at the university level. In recent years, the Government has issued many documents to promote the development of higher education in the context of fundamental reform of comprehensive education and international integration. Social work is a relatively new discipline in Vietnam but plays an important role in training high-quality human resources to serve the country's strategic social security goals. In this article, the author synthesizes and analyzes studies on the professional competence of social work lecturers of international and Vietnamese scholars; State policies on the professional development of social work lecturers, and solutions to improve the professional competence of social work lecturers in Vietnam.
