Abstract

Sino-Vietnamese lexical itemsconstitute a significant component of the primaryschool curriculum, progressively introduced atincreasing difficulty levels. Theoretical conceptsrelated to these words are presented in the finalgrades (4 and 5), alongside other linguisticsubjects. However, implementing diverse readingmaterials aligned with the 2018 Curriculumnecessitates a more integrated approach to teachingSino-Vietnamese words, beginning as early asgrades 2 and 3. This study examines the prevalenceof Sino-Vietnamese words in textbooks, identifieskey pedagogical considerations for teachers, andproposes strategies to optimize teaching these wordsin the final grades
