Impact of undergraduate program evaluation on lecturers’ congnitions and attitudes of teaching activities at University of Social Sciences and Humanities – Vietnam National University

Abstract

    Vietnamese society has increasing high demand for workforce graduated from higher education. To meet this demand, University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (HCMUSSH) will continue to play an important role in providing high quality education to Vietnames for development of the nation. This paper reports the results of the one-year mixed methods study conducted at HCMUSSH. The particular focus of the study was analyzing the impact of undergraduate program evaluation on lecturers' cognitions and attitudes of teaching activities; recommending solutions to improve quality of teaching at the University. The results indicated that lecturers had changed their cognitions and attitudes positively under the impact of undergraduate program evaluation. This study is significant for teaching quality improvement at HCMUSSH in the context of globalization.
