Survey on occupational orientation of Nguyen Tat Thanh University's Pharmacy Faculty students

Abstract

    The topic using in-depth interview method to construct questionnaire and a questionnaire survey method to survey career orientation of 312 graduates of 13DDS session (255 students in Medicine Administration, 57 students specialized in Medicine Production and 350 students of 14DDS sesion about to specialize. The sample size is calculated according to the formula of Slovin (1960). 97.43% of 14DDS and 95.19% of 13DDS choose to find a job after graduation. 13DDS students would like to work as: hospital pharmacists (11,91%), officers (11,01%), pharmacists of private pharmacies (9,51%). 13DDS students studying Medicine Administration choose Marketing (8.55%), running Free Business (8.20%), working as pharmaceutical representatives (7.50%); Conversely, Medicine Production students would like to be QA (13.43%) and QC (7.46%). 86.29% of 14DDS students choose Medicine Administration which is similar to 13DDS and is perfectly suitable for actual labor demand on the pharmaceutical field. 14DDS career plans are: private pharmacies pharmacists (15%), 13% running free bussiness, 10% being hospital pharmacists and marketing pharmacists. 5% of students each session choose to be a clinical pharmacist, 3% of the 13DDS students and 2% of the 14DDS students choose to cultivate medicinal herbs. The expected salary of one year graduates is 8-12 million VND (47.1% of 13DDS, 44.9% of 14DDS), 5 - 8 million VND (39.7% of 13DDS, 38.5% of 14DDS)...
