Survey of students’ health at Nguyen Tat Thanh University in 2017

Abstract

   Background and research goals: Students always play an important role in determining the economy of the country because they are the source of knowledge of the nation. Education is duty bound to turn out qualified and healthy students. In the pass few years, Nguyen Tat Thanh university has very few research projects on students‟ health. The purpose of this research is to survey the health situation of students at Nguyen Tat Thanh University.Research targets:Regular students enrolled in year 2017 - 2018 Nguyen Tat Thanh University. The group consisted of 951 students, of which 311 males and 640 females attend medical examinations for new entrants. Methods: Descriptive study, cross sectional study. Results: Student physical strength measurements: type I is 79.7%, type II 13.33%, type IV 2.84%, type V 0.55%. Students‟ disease models : Eyes disease: The percentage of students with nearsightedness was 49.8%. Dental problem: 23.3% of the total students. Ears, Nose, Throat disease: 1.7% of the total students. Internal medical problem: 2.3% mostly are cardiovascular and respiratory related diseases.
