Abstract

In the development of each country, the most important factor is good governance. With good governance, a country, no matter how big or small, wherever it is located, can succeed. Singapore started out as a poor country with low per capita income, but over time has become the Asian tiger. This article analyzed 6 principles of good governance - the source of Singapore's success: (1) worthy remuneration and promotion, (2) ethnic and religious harmony, (3) clean and honest government, (4) the rule of law, (5) inclusivity, and (6) environmental protection. This is a good reference lesson for Vietnam. Analyzing the actual situation of implementing the above 6 principles in Vietnam, the article also highlights the principles that Vietnam needs to absorb and learn from Singapore such as remuneration and promotion, clean and honest government, environment protection, and gives recommendations for Vietnam in the coming time. At the same time, it also clearly analyzes the traditional advantages of Vietnam in realizing ethnic and religious harmony, and the advantages of the socialist orientation in implementing the principle of inclusivity.
