Green Culture in Green Human Resource Management in the Hotel Industry
Abstract
Pressure to implement sustainable practices is mounting in the hotel sector as environmental issues worsen. Green human resource management has become a significant strategy for encouraging employees to act in an environmentally responsible manner. In order to support the successful implementation of green human resource management in hotels, this paper examines the critical role that green organizational culture plays. The paper illustrates how a strong green culture offers strategic direction, boosts employee motivation, makes it easier to implement green management practices, and fortifies organizational commitment by drawing on prior research and literature. The findings show that for green human resource management initiatives to be successful over the long run, a deeply ingrained green culture is essential. Hotel managers are given helpful advice on how to create and formalize a green culture as the cornerstone of sustainable human resource management practices.
