Fragmentation technique in novels by Nguyen Ngoc Tu

Abstract

After more than 20 years of writing with a constant consciousness of artistic innovation, Nguyen Ngoc Tu has affirmed her important position in the contemporary literature of Vietnam. Venturing into the novel genre, Nguyen Ngoc Tu has showcased many new shades from her artistic concepts to writing techniques. Applying the postmodern theory to investigating novels by writers, especially examining the aspect of fragmentation technique, has contributed to explaining the uniqueness and richness of the works. This article focuses on studying three elements: plot fragmentation, character fragmentation, and spatial fragmentation.
