Realities on high school students' perception of social work profession at Thien Ho Duong High School, Cao Lanh city, Dong Thap province

Abstract

The aim of this study is to explore and analyze the realities on high school students' perception of social work profession, including the job title, target clients, professional requirements, professional values, work environment/fields, legal basis, and the system of agencies and organizations involved in this profession. The study surveyed 270 students at Thien Ho Duong High School, Cao Lanh City, Dong Thap Province. Research findings show that their perception was very low, with most of them lacking understanding and having an inaccurate perception of the profession. This issue requires practical solutions to improve high school students' awareness of this profession in the future.
