Abstract
John Maxwell Coetzee was born in 1940, in the legislative capital Cape Town (South Africa). He is one of the typical faces of the postmodern literary movement. Coetzee's novels are imbued with postmodern imprints in innovative techniques of mixing and integrating genres. This research explores these techniques in Coetzee's novels in two aspects: mixing and integrating literary genres and mixing and integrating different genres. From here, it contributes to exploiting and explaining the tragic fate of people in life. At the same time, the writer's unique mark in his writing method is revealed.
