Abstract
Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh introduced the concept of “Engagement Buddhism” in the 1960s, bringing Buddhism closer to life. He is also a writer, poet, researcher with about one hundred and forty books published and translated into many languages around the world. Those precious spiritual values contribute to the richness and diversity of Vietnamese Buddhist literature. This article presents the collection of stories Giot nuoc canh duong from the perspective of artistic conception of people. The desire to clarify Buddhist teachings is conveyed by Thich Nhat Hanh in a concise, easy-to-understand and close manner when illuminating life. At the same time, it point outs the author’s humanistic messages.
