Abstract

The epic poem “Flood” by Lu Mai was created under extraordinary circumstances. After a turbulent year for the country, marked by a series of natural disasters from the North to the South, Lu Mai wrote “Flood” as a way to reflect on contemporary ecological issues while highlighting ecological risks, crises, and traumas. This article focuses on examining ecological trauma in this work from various perspectives, including ecological memory, human experiences of ecological trauma, and the symbols representing ecological trauma. Critically revealing ecological concerns in the work, the author identifies and contributes to spreading the environmental protection messages embedded in the work Lũ.
