THE CURRENT ENVIRONMENTAL SECURITIES AFFECTING THE EXERCISE OF BUILDING PHONG DIEN TO BE AN ECO-URBAN DISTRICT UPON THE RESOLUTION/CENTRAL No.07 DATED 27 DECEMBER 2016 BY CANTHO CITY PARTY COMMITTEE

Abstract

Phong Dien district has recently deployed many strategies using natural resources to promote socio-economic development. However, the governors and people here hold an insufficient awareness of the importance of environment and environmental security, thereby possibly impairing the local ecosystem. This field-observation research addresses the accomplishments of the district on the environment, environmental securities, and eco-city issues upon the eco-city criteria. Thereby, it proposes some solutions such as propaganda, policies, and cooperations in the process of developing this district, creating a reference framework for exercising the Resolution/Central No.07 dated 27 December 2016 by Cantho City Party Committee on “building  and developing Phong Dien to be an eco-urban district” as expected, contributing to Vietnam’s sustainable economic development.
