ENHANCING THE RESPONSIBILITY OF FARMERS DOING TOURISM IN TIEN GIANG PROVINCE THROUGH CULTURAL EXCHANGE AND EXPOSURE

Abstract

Tourism has currently become a principle and guideline of the whole sector. This view is not only disseminated to individuals and organizations working in the field of tourism but also tourists and local communities. With a combination of surveys, fieldworks, in-depth interviews, and a number of theoretical research methods, this paper seeks to assess the participation of farmers in doing local tourism. It also points out the advantages and disadvantages in practising the approach of cultural exchanges and acculturation in tourism activities. Thenceforth, it proposes some solutions to improve the responsibility of farmers doing tourism through thoroughly grasping some viewpoints of supporting farmers to self-adjust and develop sustainable tourism activities.
