DEVELOPING COOPERATION SKILLS FOR 5-6 YEAR-OLD CHILDREN THROUGH SCIENCE DISCOVERY ACTIVITIES IN KINDERGARTEN
Abstract
Developing children's cooperation skills is a necessary and important task in the process of achieving the goals of preschool education, helping to develop their social communication capacity, affording them work together, and performing the task most effectively. The article mentions the concept of cooperation, the manifestation of cooperation skills of 5-6 year-old children through scientific discovery activities, and points out some advantages and disadvantages when training cooperation skills for this child group. We have proposed measures to practice cooperation skills for them through science discovery activities at kindergarten, such as: selecting appropriate educational contents from the preschool curriculum currently; building suitable rich environment; creating conditions for children to share experiences of cooperation; practising cooperation skills through situations. These methods contribute to improving the effectiveness of cooperation skills education for children.
