VOCATIONAL TRAINING NEEDS AMONG CHILD LABOUR IN AN GIANG PROVINCE
Abstract
This study was conducted to identify the vocational training needs, career capacity orientation of child labour from 14 to under 18 years old in An Giang province. The data was collected by surveying 136 children in Chau Phu District, Cho Moi District, An Phu District, and Chau Doc City. The results showed that the majority of target children at risk or in child labor wanted to receive vocational training and were interested in technical major. The solutions are proposed to improve the effectiveness of career counseling and vocational training supports which enables children to have sustainable jobs when they reach working age as well as to increase the quality of vocational training, contributing to limit migration and minimize child labor in the study area.
