Designing a problem-solving competence framework in educational robotics for secondary school students

Abstract

Problem-solving competence is one of the core common competencies that need developed for students in the general education program in 2018 in Vietnam. In the general program in 2018, STEM education is emphasized as a relevant environment to promote problem-solving competence for students. One of the realistic fields interested in STEM education is robotics, which requires tight integration of knowledge and skills. In this paper, on the basis of the literature review, we propose a framework of problem-solving competence in education robotics to clarify the characteristics in the problem-solving process due to modern technology. The competence framework contributes to orienting learning activity and evaluating students' ability to solve problems in STEM-robotics topics
