Abstract

Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASDs) is mainly communication through the exchange of images, symbols, and signs. With advantages such as clarity, consistency, stability, convenience, and promoting the visual perceptual abilities of children with ASDs, AAC is considered an effective communication tool for children with ASDs. This study aims to propose an AAC toolkit for use in specialized educational environments, including criteria for designing and using AAC tools, the process of building an AAC toolkit, the structure of the AAC toolkit, how to place the toolkit in a specialized educational environment.
