RESEARCH ON DETERMINATION OF THE ANTIBIOTICS SULFATHIAZOLE, SULFAMETHAZINE, SULFAMETHOXAZOLE, SULFAMERAZINE IN SURFACE WATER BY LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPHY TANDEM MASS LC/MS/MS

Abstract
This is the survey results for analysis of four antibiotics sulfathiazole (STZ), sulfamethazine (SMZ), sulfamethoxazole (SMX), sulfamerazine (SMR) in surface water using LC/MS/MS. Optimized parameters of sample preparation include: Volume of sample extract 500mL, pH sample before extraction 2.8 -3.2. Mean recoveries of four sulfonamides spiked at 1μg/L were between 95.39 and 100.94% with the coefficient of variation (CV) from 1.77% to 9.06%. The detection and quantification limits were calculated for all compounds ranged between 0.05 - 0.16 μg/L and 0.14 -0.49μg/L respectively. The proceduce was applied to the analysis several water samples of West lake, Yen So lake, Ngoc Khanh lake, Kim Nguu river and To Lich river. The occurrence and distribution of four selected antibiotics in lakes and rivers of Ha Noi were ranged from below detection limit (BDL) to 568.25ng/L. In particular, antibiotic SMX appeared in all samples with very high concentration from 14.93 to 568.25ng/L.
