Abstract

The simplest method, rapid, sensitive and accurate has been developed to determine theindicators (red E, acid-base EDA and yellow A2) in paper military agent detection byspectrophotometry. The optimal solvent for the determination were: chloroform, chloroformin 5% ethanolamine and dimethylformamide in 0.5% Na2CO3 with molar absorptivities of5.40 × 104 L mol-1 cm-1 at 556 nm, 1.28.104 L mol-1 cm-1 at 664 nm and 3.11104 L mol-1cm-1 at 394nm for red E, acid-base EDA and yellow A2, respectively. Beer's law was obeyedin the concentration range of 2.10-6-3.10-5, 10-6 -.10-5 and 5.10-6 - 6.10-5 mol/l (correlationcoefficients ≥ 0.9991) with limit of detection (LOD) and the limit of quantitation (LOQ) of0.28 and 0.92 ppm, 0.15 and 0.50 ppm and 0.44 and 1.5 ppm for yellow A2, red E, acid-baseEDA, respectively. The method was applied to quantify the indicators in the form of papermilitary agen detection CALID-3(Czech Republic) and homemade.
