Abstract

Bee venom from Apis mellifera is a rich source of pharmacologically active componentsincluding various peptites, enzymes, and amines. By using HPLC/UV was separated the majorconstituents of bee venom including apamin, phospholipaza A2 (PLA2), and melittin. In thestudy to develop an HPLC method to assay the venom compounds the following elements weretested: chromatographic column with C18 Phenomenex 110, separation temperature 40 oC,flow rate 0.5 mL/min, condition of gradient elution 0 - 80 % B in 70 min with mobile phase: A- TFA 0.2 % và TEA 0.16 % and B - TFA 0.1 % in mixture Axetonitrile : deionized water(8:2), UV detector at 220 nm wavelength.

Keywords: bee venom, Apis mellifera, apamine, phospholipaza A2, melittin, HPLC/UV.
