Abstract

The digestion efficiency of total organic carbon, nitrogen (TOC and T-N) of organic sludge (OS) by microorganism is examined in this study. OS is filled with volume of 5 L for four chambers, microorganism is added in dosing of 10, 5, 1 and 0 mL corresponding to B1, B2, B3 and B4, respectively. OS is collected from Tho Quang dock (Danang city), entire digested experiment is carried out in the lab scale during 63 days. The TOC and T-N removed efficiency of M1 is 32and 44%; M2 is 22 and 31%; M3 is 20 and 28%, and M4 is 12 and 14%, respectively, corresponding to initial values of 6575 and 70.5 mg/kg. It is surely conclusion that the big role of microorganism could contribute to reduce contaminant of the water body-bed. The obtained data of this work are high valuable to further studies and promising to improve environmental quality of coastal basin of Vietnam.
