ORGANOR POLLUTION COMPOUNDS FROM HOUSEHOLD AND BUSSINESS IN FLOODED PADDY SOIL

  • Hạnh Nguyễn

Abstract

Due to the characteristics of wet rice cultivation sites intermingled with residential areas, the pollution
of organic matter originating from family activities was recorded in many rice cultivation areas in Hue
and Thanh Hoa. Simultaneously, frequent floods and storms also contribute to dispersing these
pollutants into the environment, causing negative impacts on the environment, organisms and people.
The automatic identification and quantification system based on gas chromatographic database
combined with mass spectrometry (GC-MS) (AIQS-DB) containing simple, fast and high-precision
properties should be utilized in this study. Up to 45 household chemicals were detected in this study,
mainly steroid compounds (0 - 2081 ng/g) and substances of petroleum group (0 - 2244 ng/g).
Moreover, the research results have provided more reliable evidences related to the pollution of
domestic wastes in arable land as well as data for assessing the exposure of these pollutants to human
health.
