EFFECT OF INOCULANTS, ADDITIVE MATERIALS ON INCREASING CHARACTERISTICS CORAL SOIL ON SOME ISLAND OF TRUONG SA ARCHIPELAGO
Abstract
The soil on the floating islands in the Truong Sa archipelago is composed mainly of corals, which are
poor in nutrients. Plants growing on this soil are also less diverse, with only a few specific species that
can adapt to the harsh natural conditions of the Truong Sa archipelago. In particular, for the new soil
accreted due to activities aimed at socio-economic development, national defense, and security here,
very few plants can grow on this type of soil. In addition, due to the influence of the climate, the plants
grow very slowly. Some physicochemical characteristics of the soil, such as pH, EC, and OC, have
been changed when adding inoculants and additive materials. Some food plants, such as morning
glory, spinach have developed and grown well.
