The objectives are to describe the current situation of school physical bullying among Tran Phu high school students and to describe related factors. This is a cross-sectional study with a sample of 392 high school students using a self-administered structure questionnaire. In addition, we performed indepth interviews with six students, one teacher and the school's principal.

Study results showed that in the last 6 months, the proportion of students who had any of physical bullying behaviors was 17.1%. Male students were more likely to have these kinds of behavior than female. Associated factors of the physical bullying were lack of support from family; not good family relationship, lack of friends; involvement of close-friends in physical bullying behaviors, or having other high risk behaviors such as smoking, drinking alcohol, and carrying weapon. Recommendation is to strengthen connection between family, schools and Youth Union to reduce the aggressiveness of these behaviors.
